Who are you voting for?
So election season is before us and seemingly sooner than ever but from here until November, it probably will just get worse and worse. Better hunker down now for the onslaught of negative ads and all that. It makes me nervous just thinking about it.
So as of right now, I think I know who I am pulling for. It makes no sense to say who I would vote for at this point because I'm neither a registered Democrat or Republican so I couldn't vote in any primaries to help decide who runs. I know who I hope wins the ticket in both parties (Obama for the Democrats and either Huckabee or Paul for the Republicans). Yes, I know those are longshots. If they don't get it, I'm in the "anyone but Hillary" and "anyone but Guiliani" camp.
So I guess the bigger question I have here is who are you guys pulling for at this point? Who has impressed you? Who hasn't? What are your reasons for supporting whoever you support? I haven't plunged too deep into the issues and what everyone believes at this point because I don't want to worry about it too much until it's down to just 2 candidates. So help a brotha out... who are you voting for?7 comments

I wish some regular guy would just step up and say, "We are tired of being lied to by politicians. I don't know squat about running a campaign, but I'm not going to play games, I'll tell you the truth, and we are going to do the best we can."

I'm voting for Dennis Kucinich. Just kidding. I like Obama, because he is genuine and could emotionally unite most of the country which is something we are in dire need of. Some of his policies are crazy and unrealistic though. So I am inclined to vote for the Huckster, even though he seems a little uppity and exclusive of the non-Christian right.

Have you seen Huckabee's latest add. It is on YouTube. He does the unthinkable. He mentions "Christ", "Christmas", and "God". I think this is running in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. There is also debate on whether the "cross" appearing in the background of the add (which is said to be a book case) was intentional or not. Maybe it is a work of God like the "Jesus" images that appear in pancakes, potato chips, and wood grains.

Meriam,
I think everyone wishes for that but you know as well as I do that it's never gonna happen. I feel bad being so cynical but it's hard for me not to believe that anybody who can get to the point of running for president is probably in somebody's pocket.
Marcus,
Kucinich would be great for fans of Saturday Night live... 4 years of them making fun of him would rock.
James,
That guy's crazy.

anyways...
i was thinking about that post you had on top songs of all time that had to be in the top 40 and i have a few now that can be considered.
1. still haven't found what i'm looking for...
2. ordinary world by duran duran.
3. kiss from a rose by seal...that melody was pretty sweet.
4. 1979 by smashing pumpkins...great riff, great lyrics, great melody, great band.
5. run around by blues traveler.
6. crash into me by dmb.
7. the freshmmen by verve pipe.
8. long december by counting crows.
sadly, my favorite songs of all time aren't really 'top 40' types. but those are some i came up with...belatedly.
by the way, i like huckabee a lot. obama isn't exactly as solid for me as he used to be. he's still far left for me. not much the dems are throwing my way that isn't nowadays, though.

kiss from a rose!? aww come on! kiss from a rose is the "kucinich" of songs. a little better with the rest. I'd say no one has impressed really. it's still too early. although huckabee is showing the cajones early in the race. Merry Jesusmas, Scott

Hey Greg, go to youtube and do a search for chad vader. It's funny stuff. But then do a search for celebrity bric-a-brac theater. It definitely reminds me of Bobble Head Theater. You are a pioneer of nic nack comedy, my friend.
