[..who i am..]
I am trying to be the best husband to Jessica and father to Connor I can possibly be. In the daytime (and after they go to sleep) I am the Innovative Creative Arts Pastor at Powell Church in Knoxville, TN. I love songwriting, creating stupid videos, apple computers, and pie.

I'm not quite dead... I think I'll go for a walk

So... yeah, reports of my demise were greatly exaggerated. I'm still alive and kicking but not really blogging. I've decided to shut down the old emergingminister.com. It will still be here but it will become one of many internet graveyards.

Why? I don't know... it's time for a change. I'm not thrilled with the "emergingminister" name and that has a lot to do with it. I mean heck, I should have emerged by now, right? I can't be emerging forever. It also just raises too many theological questions anymore and I don't necessarily want to be judged by people based on whatever they might think "emerging" means. When I chose the name for the blog it was a fairly new term. Now it's like saying "contemporary worship". If it means everything it doesn't mean anything.

So, look for a new blog coming soon. It will be a whole new deal with a completely different direction. We'll see where it goes. I do appreciate all of you checking in to make sure I was still around... thanks. And to all of the folks who have checked in here over the years, thank you. It was a good run. See you on the flip side.
